JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Builds web applications -- follow coding standards, builds appropriate unit tests and integration tests
-Work closely with the team lead and other members of the team to develop detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines and ensures timely completion of deliverables.
-Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
-Build reusable code and libraries for future use
-Develop websites based on technical and functional specifications provided by the client
-Work on end-to-end web development projects, from design to implementation
-Support existing web development including maintenance, enhancements and bug fixes
-Advise on changes to improve system functionality and code in the context of standard
-Troubleshooting, testing and maintaining of web applications and other core development products
-Pro-actively monitor application and identify inefficiencies in the websites and work on ways to improve them.
Qualifications:
-5+ years of professional software development experience with PHP, the PSR standards and PHP fundamentals.
-Strongly preferred a developer with experience in the CodeIgniter framework - However, experience with frameworks such as Laravel, or Zend are acceptable.
-Expertise in HTML5 and CSS3 development including layout, UI interactive prototypes, browser compatibility, responsive web design and basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as SASS.
-Good understanding of AJAX and JavaScript DOM manipulation techniques
-Knowledgable in the modern JavaScript MV-VM/MVC frameworks (AngularJS, JQuery, NodeJS)
-Professional experience with relational databases – MySQL preferred. Prefer DB design and/or query development; DB tuning; optimization.
-Understanding of MVC design patterns
-Strong working knowledge of web services including REST, JSON, Soap, etc.
-Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git or SVN
-Good in programming, debugging and implementation skills
-Ability to work in a team and works well under pressure and deadlines
-Candidates with portfolio is a plus
Job REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology (or related area) preferred
-5 Years of working experience in the related field is required in this position
-Ability to work independently and work with other team members to ensure on-time quality delivery of applications
-Good in oral and written communication skills.
-Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
-Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying lengths
-Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently
-Must be a team player
-Willingness to work on a shifting schedule, during weekends and holidays.
